A company built for the long way round.
We started Viajes Globales because the trips we wanted to take did not exist — so we spent more than fifteen years learning to build them.
Viajes Globales began in 2009, between two cities — Madrid and Lima — and two travellers who were each, separately, frustrated by the same thing. The world had been made bookable, searchable and fast, and somewhere in the process it had been made smaller than it really is.
So we built a company around a single, slightly old-fashioned idea: that a journey should be long enough to change you. That you should feel the continents change beneath you. That arriving on the other side of the world should be earned, gradually, the way it always was — and that every difficult, tedious, bureaucratic part of making that happen should be someone else's job. Ours.
More than fifteen years on, we are a small team of planners, expedition leaders and local specialists spread across four continents. We have walked the routes. We have slept in the rooms. And we still believe the best thing travel can do is remind you how large the world remains.
“The other side of the world is not a destination. It is a direction — and we have simply never stopped walking toward it.”The founders, Viajes Globales
Four things we will not compromise.
Slow by design
We travel overland and by sea wherever the route allows. Distance is not an obstacle to be minimised — it is the point.
Personally vetted
We do not sell a hotel, a guide or a table we have not experienced ourselves. If we would not send our family there, we do not send you.
Sourced and honest
Our guides cite their sources and credit their photographers. We would rather tell you a hard truth about a place than a comfortable myth.
Lightly done
Small groups, local guides, offset flights, and the IAATO code in Antarctica. The most extraordinary places are also the most fragile.

Come and see how large it still is.
A grand journey, a single chapter of one, or something we have not built yet — let us begin.
